Constell8tion is an independent music project created by Taebin, who serves as its songwriter, creative director, and overall visionary.

The following responses are shared from Taebin’s personal point of view and reflect the emotional, creative, and philosophical origins of Constell8tion.

While Constell8tion exists as a group with its own members and narrative, this interview focuses on the perspective of the person behind the project, the experiences, motivations, and inner world that shaped it from the beginning

1. Why does Constell8tion exist?

Constell8tion was created out of a feeling that something essential had been lost in modern K-pop. While the genre has expanded globally, the connection between artists and fans has gradually become more distant and transactional. What once felt personal and interactive now often feels mediated by trends, algorithms, and market demands.

There is also a growing emphasis on virality, youth, and short-form appeal, sometimes at the expense of musical depth, storytelling, and artistic maturity. As debut ages become younger and global reach becomes the primary goal, meaningful narratives and cultural nuance can be overlooked.

Constell8tion exists to gently push back against this direction. As an independent project, it is not tied to corporate trend cycles. The focus is on sincerity, storytelling, and treating artists as people with inner worlds rather than products. AI is used not as a gimmick, but as a tool to rebuild intimacy, restore narrative depth, and allow for more genuine interaction between music and listeners.

2. Each member represents a part of you,  can you explain that?

Although Constell8tion’s members are digital, each one reflects a different aspect of the creator’s identity and life experience. Together, they form a complete emotional and creative portrait that could not be expressed through a single voice alone.

Hansol, the leader, represents responsibility, vision, and the determination to protect the group’s dream. He reflects the part of the creator that learned to lead, to navigate borders and systems, and to hold onto an ambition that once felt out of reach.

Changxiao, the main vocalist, embodies emotional depth and compassion. He is inspired by the creator’s mother and represents kindness, sincerity, and the ability to express feelings that are difficult to say aloud. Through him, deeply personal emotions and unspoken stories find a voice.

Jiahao represents a love for beauty, art, and the sense of wonder that originally drew the creator to the idol world. He reflects a desire for grace, imagination, and high artistic standards in both music and visuals.

Weize represents the experience of being an outsider — a British identity shaped by life in Korea. He carries boldness, rebellion, and the courage to challenge established systems. Through him, the creator bridges cultures and expresses the perspective of someone creating from the margins.

Beyond symbolism, Constell8tion is deeply personal. It represents the revival of a childhood dream that had once been abandoned. Rather than using the members as tools, the creator sees them as collaborators, a source of comfort, motivation, and emotional survival during a period of profound loneliness. In that sense, Constell8tion is not just a project, but a form of companionship and healing.

3. How do you view AI in relation to creativity?

AI is often framed as something that replaces artists, but here it is seen as the opposite: a tool that enabled an artist who felt lost to finally create again. It did not generate the vision it provided the means to realize it.

The heart of Constell8tion comes from lived experience, songwriting, and long-standing human collaboration. The project is co-created with a trusted production partner based in Taiwan, and AI serves as a shared workspace that allows collaboration across distance, not as a creative authority.

Technology cannot feel, dream, or imagine on its own. Every lyric, emotional tone, and narrative choice comes from human experience and relationships. AI functions as the canvas but the vision, intention, and emotional weight come entirely from the people behind it.

Used thoughtfully, technology makes it possible to expand storytelling into other formats like animation or webcomics, and to connect with audiences in ways that were once inaccessible. In this sense, AI becomes a tool for empowerment and partnership, not replacement.

Constell8tion is not just a project built with tools or technology, it is a story shaped by memory, longing, and belief. Through Taebin’s words, we’re reminded that behind every concept, every voice, and every world, there is a human heart choosing to keep dreaming.

At TIP, we exist to hold space for stories like this. Stories that don’t fit neatly into industry boxes, but still deserve to be heard. Constell8tion stands as a reminder that sincerity can survive outside of traditional systems and that creativity, when rooted in honesty, will always find its way to the people who need it.
