Interview with WendySoBlue

Today on The Indie Planet, we’re featuring WendySoBlue, an indie rock band from Korea creating emotional, atmospheric music that blends dreamy sounds with honest storytelling.

We spoke with them about their journey, creative process, and the emotions behind their music.

 1. Please introduce WendySoBlue to viewers who are discovering your music for the first time.

Hi, we’re WendySoBlue, an indie rock band based in Korea. We create emotional, atmospheric music that blends dreamy sounds with honest storytelling. Our goal is to express feelings that are often hard to put into words.

2. How did WendySoBlue begin, and what inspired the project or band name?

WendySoBlue started as a small project between friends who just wanted to make music that felt real to us. The name doesn’t have a deep meaning, we just combined words that sounded nice and felt right together.

3. How would you describe your music style in your own words?

We’d describe our sound as emotional indie rock with dreamy textures. It moves between soft and intimate moments and more intense, expressive sounds.

4. What usually inspires your songwriting?

We’re usually inspired by personal experiences and the people we meet. A lot of our songs come from real emotions that we’ve felt in those moments.

5. When creating a new song, what comes first for you: lyrics, melody, or emotion?

We try to draw out the emotions we can reach as much as possible first. Then the melody comes, followed by the lyrics. But honestly, every element is important in its own way.

6. How do you usually work together as a band during the creative process?

Usually, the vocalist and lead guitarist bring in a song idea, and then we all get together as a band to arrange and develop it further.

7. What do you hope listeners feel when they hear your music?

We hope people feel understood. Even if they interpret our songs in their own way, we want them to feel less alone and more connected to their emotions.

8. What has been the most meaningful moment for WendySoBlue so far?

It’s when people come up to us after a performance and tell us that our music helped them forget their stress, even just for a day.

9. How would you describe the indie rock scene in Korea right now?

It’s very diverse and growing. There are many unique artists, and the scene feels more open and experimental than ever.

10. What are your goals or dreams for WendySoBlue in the future?

We want to keep evolving our sound and reach more listeners, both in Korea and internationally. Performing on bigger stages and connecting with global audiences is one of our dreams.

11. If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would you want to go?

We’d love to perform in cities with strong music cultures like London, Tokyo, or New York. Anywhere we can meet new audiences would be amazing.

12. Do you have a message for TIP viewers and people discovering your music today?

Thank you so much for listening to our music. We truly appreciate your support, and we hope our songs can stay with you in some small way.
